Extruded Guide Rail Blind
The Vental 80a6 external louvre blind is our most popular premium quality external venetian blind and is supplied with extruded aluminium guide rails.
The slats are made from roll-formed 0.45 mm thick pre-coated aluminium coil. The slat is 80 mm wide with a slightly curved profile and a radius edge.
This model blind is tiltable and retractable. It can be adjusted, from inside, to any operable angle, ensuring that the right amount of light enters the room at any time of day.
Set to the appropriate position, the slats will let daylight in, eliminate glare and offer solar heat protection, yet provide privacy. When not required, the blind can be retracted up and out of your view. This is a bonus for window cleaning or for those times when you want the sun to provide additional free heat to your building.
The slats can be tilted either way in any dropped position (approximately 160º rotation).
Guide rails are clear anodised extruded aluminium with sound deadening guide inserts (Optional powder-coat finish available).
Bottom rails are clear anodised single-piece extruded aluminium (Optional powder-coat finish available).
Head channels are black anodised extruded aluminium and upward-opening so that the mechanical workings of the blind are less visible.
UV stabilised nylon slat fittings are standard on this premium model.
Each model 80a6 blind is fitted with an electric motor for easy operation of all the blind functions.
The slats for this model blind are available in a range of standard colours that are always in stock and ready for immediate manufacture.
Blind Slats
The Vental 80a6 blind has 80 mm wide slats with a slightly curved profile and a radius edge. The slats can be tilted either way in any dropped position (approximately 160º rotation).
This slat profile is roll-formed and precision punched from pre-painted aluminium coil that has been painted in 2-coats, around 26µm, of the latest polyester enamel.
Lift Tapes and Ladder Cords
Our technical soft components are made from cutting edge materials that are not only strong but resist UV damage, abrasion and shrinking.
These parts are supplied in black as standard but are available in an optional grey version.
Slat Inserts
This model blind has UV stabilised sound deadening nylon inserts fitted into every slat. These inserts not only serve to protect the lifting tapes from abrasion but also connect the slat to the ladder cords.

Guide Pins
Our guide rails pins are made, glass fibre reinforced UV stabilised nylon. They are sonically welded into each blind slat with a strong 3-pin mounting system.

Guide Rails
This model of blind has an extruded aluminium guide rails system. The guide rails feature a UV stabilised sound deadening guide insert for smooth travel of the guide pins during operation of the blind.
These parts are supplied in 25µm clear anodised finish as standard but can be finished in a powder-coat colour as an optional extra.
The sound deadening guide insert is only available in standard black.
Guide Rail Fittings
A range of standard guide rail fixing brackets are available.
The type of guide fixing used will depend on the guide fitting requirements of each window opening on your site.
These parts are supplied in a clear anodised finish as standard but can be finished in a powder-coat colour as an optional extra.
Bottom Rail
The blind bottom rail is manufactured from an elegant single piece of aluminium extrusion. This seamless section is then precision machined so that the ladder cord terminations and lifting tape points are in exact alignment with the slat hole punches.

Headrail
Our headrail system contains all of the driving components for the blind. The entire weight of the blind is also supported by this component.
Headrails are black anodised extruded aluminium and upward-opening so that the mechanical workings of the blind are less visible from below.
The headrails are precision punched to fit the tilt + raise spools as well as the electric venetian blind motor.
These parts are supplied in 10µm black anodised finish as standard.
Venetian Blind Motor
A blind motor is fitted into the head rail of every Vental external venetian blind. The motor performs both the lift / lower and tilt operation function for the blind.
The motor is always positioned around the middle of the blind span width so that the motor torque can be evenly passed through the drive axles to the tilt + raise spools.
For the blind to operate, you will need to arrange for a licensed electrical contractor to provide the correct power and switching to each blind position. See our Standard Motor Wiring Diagram for details.
Cassette Type B Pelmet
This is an optional component that is not included with a standard blind.
The Vental Cassette Type B pelmet is a single-piece aluminium extrusion that is 130 mm high. This minimalist design offers a neat solution to protecting the blind workings where the building design has not already allowed for a constructed blind recess.
This cassette pelmet is designed to be the minimum height required to cover the blind head rail and working components only and is not intended to cover the entire retracted blind packet.
These parts are supplied in 25µm clear anodised finish as standard but can be finished in a powder-coat colour as an optional extra.

Blinds from 4000mm to 4999mm width are fitted as standard with 1 x intermediate guide wire.
Blinds from 5000mm to 6000mm width are fitted as standard with 2 x intermediate guide wires.
